LIVING WORLD

The Living World represent most moving objects in the world of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, apart from the aircraft piloted by the user. Most of the default living world of the sim can be modified and overridden through this SDK, although in very general terms and in most cases we do not recommend that you modify things, since it will affect all the other add-ons used in the simulation. As such, most of the information here is simply for reference so you understand how things work.

The Living World Configuration section of this document describes how to configure the main file for the Living World. It includes some behavior settings, but mostly which models to use for Road Traffic, Leisure Boats, and Airport Life (both vehicles and human characters), along with some possible differences across different regions of the world.

The Airport Services section details the system of services that can interact with the user aircraft, such as pushbacks and baggage vehicles. The files configuring the Airport Services also has parameters for behaviors of Airport Life, including tarmac workers hanging around parked aircraft.

Finally we have a section with an overview of how the different traffic options work internally (air traffic, ground traffic, and boats).
