THE DEVMODE TOOLBAR
The DevMode Toolbar window is meant to be used as a helper window while using the different editors available. It has been designed to give you quick access to specific, frequently used, features of the current editor, and to improve the UX and ergonomics when working in DevMode.
The sections below give an overview of the options available depending on the editor that is being used.
The Scenery Editor
The Toolbar options when using The Scenery Editor are as follows:
-
Working Type
Form this drop-down menu you can select an object type. Once selected, you will only be able to interact with the objects of this same type within the scene you're working on, allowing you to easily work on a specific object type without having to manually lock/hide all other types. Beside the drop down list you also have+
button, which will permit you to add an object of the selected type into the scene.
-
Isolation
When this is checked, all objects except the working type(s) will be hidden in the editor (they will not be rendered and cannot be edited).
-
Hide/Lock By Type
This drop-down gives you quick access to the Hide Object / Lock Object / Hide Edition matrix of the Scenery Editor.
-
Gizmo
This is simply a quick access tool for The Edition Gizmo options.
-
Camera
This is a quick access too for the Camera options. When using the scenery editor, there are some additional options that do not appear in the independent camera options window:-
Auto Focus On Selection
Selecting this will force the camera to focus on an object when selecting it (ie: center the camera on it). -
Reset Camera Orientation On Focus
When an object is selected and Auto Focus is enabled, this option resets the camera angle to a 45° angle from the ground. This can help prevent the camera from getting into awkward angles. -
Fit Object On Focus
When an object is selected and Auto Focus is enabled, checking this option will also move the camera to an "ideal" distance from the object such that it fits within the screen, in addition to centering the camera on it. -
Clicking this button will focus the camera on the currently selected object (respecting the Reset Camera Orientation and Fit Object options, if selected).Focus Current Selection
